LOBA OLGA is an initiative led by LOBAKA around preserving voices, languages and stories, and passing them on from one generation to the next.

When a voice falls silent, a language goes with it.
Many languages are passed on orally first: in families, by elders, through stories. When that passing-on stops, nothing written takes over.
LOBAKA works on voice. LOBA OLGA is the part of that work that isn't for sale: keeping a record of voices and stories, and giving them back to the next generations.
An archive of voices and stories.
The planned project is called The Olga Archive. Its shape is being worked out with the people and communities concerned.
Collect
Record voices and stories, with the consent of those who carry them.
Preserve
Keep these recordings over time, with their context.
Pass on
Make them available to families, communities and the next generations.
No collection has started. Rules on consent, ownership and access will be set before the first recording.
